Rarely does
a restaurant leave such an impression on me....
Pulling up to the old firehall is exciting in itself;
you're not sure what lies behind the huge garage
doors, but you can tell it's something great. We
were greeted by the hostess in the spacious waiting
area right away. Within three minutes we were seated
and ordering drinks and appetizers. We started
with calamari, pan seared with garlic, lemon juice,
and red cabbage. I'm a calamari fanatic and order
it everywhere I go, and I can say that this is
the best I've had in a long time. Next I moved
onto the Chicken Marsala. Beautiful presentation
with well-appointed vertical layers of pan seared
whipped potatoes, extremely tender chicken, an
explosive marsala sauce and topped with grated
baby carrots. Last, I had to end this dining adventure
with my favorite dessert, creme brulee. Was it
good, you ask? Take a wild guess. From it's delicious
cuisine to the exquisite interior decor, Staccato
at the Firehall has risen the bar for fine dining
in Bend. If I could give it 5 's,
I would. |
