2010 BCC Questions, Answered.

What is the Bend Comedy Competition?
The Bend Comedy Competition is an annual stand-up comedy competition in Bend, Oregon showcasing national touring headliner comedians from all over the country. The competition begins with 16 comics and winds down to the final four money slots over a four day period.
How are the comedians picked to compete?
The BCC is an invitational competition, meaning the comedians in this event have been asked to participate by the event producers. This maintains a high level of comedic ability.
How does the competition work?
The competition is comprised of 16 comedians, which are seperated into two groups of eight. The first group performs 8-minute sets at the first preliminary event at 900 Wall Restaurant and the second group performs 8-minute sets, the next night, at the second preliminary event, also at 900 Wall Restaurant. Four comedians will be voted on, by judges, to move forward from each preliminary event. Those eight comedians will perform 12-minute sets on the third night, the semi-finals, with four moving forward to the Finals, both at the The Tower Theatre. The four comedians at the Finals will perform their 20-minute sets and will be voted on by a 3-judge panel for final placement and money awards.
What prizes are given to the winning comedians?
There is a total of $4250 in prize money awarded at the Final Competiton at the Tower Theatre on April 3rd, 2010. 1st Place - $2000; 2nd Place - $1000; 3rd Place - $500; 4th Place - $250. The First Place Winner of the Bend Comedy Competition will also win an appearance at one of the West Coast's premier comedy venues, Parlor Live in Bellevue, Washington.
How does the ticketing work?
